Create It implements an Asset Management solution for RTP

RTP has decided to entrust |create|it| with the responsibility to implement an Asset Management solution for its intranet environment based on Microsoft SharePoint 2010. The use of SharePoint has enabled |create|it| to leverage native platform functionalities such as the approval workflows, authorization and permission data access mechanisms and Microsoft SharePoint Business Connectitivy Services (BCS).

The solution enables RTP staff to perform asset management tasks according to their specified organizational roles:

• Displaying and previewing the asset set in the external SAP system for which they are responsible
• Updating the asset data automatically in the external SAP system, through the use of the native Microsoft SharePoint 2010 web interface.
• Transferring and discontinuing assets based on a hierarchical approval workflow. The workflow participants are determined by a combination of criteria based on the discontinuing process itself and the asset data, which comes from an external SAP R/3 system. The asset data is updated automatically with the process information when it is concluded.
